Meridiano is a personal finance app for iPhone and the web, made by Umbra Studio. This policy explains what data Meridiano uses, why, where it is stored and how you can ask us to delete it. Questions: hola@meridianoapp.com.
Who is responsible for your data
Umbra Studio, which builds and operates Meridiano. Contact for anything related to your personal data: hola@meridianoapp.com.
What data we use
- Your account: name, email address and how you sign in (Apple, Google or email).
- Bank and merchant emails, if you connect Gmail: Meridiano reads, with read-only access, the charge, deposit and receipt notifications sent by your bank and by merchants such as Uber or Rappi, to record your transactions: merchant, amount, currency, date and account. It does not read or store any other email.
- What you enter: balances, budget, categories, pending payments, subscriptions and cash expenses.
- Your device: an identifier to send you notifications on your iPhone, if you turn them on.
We never ask for or store your bank password or full card or account numbers.
How we use it
- To build your budget by pay period and show how much you have left.
- To sort your transactions into categories and notify you about payments, overspending and period closings.
- To answer questions you ask in «Preguntar», if you use that feature.
- To provide support when you contact us.
We do not sell your data, use it for advertising or share it for marketing.
Gmail and other Google data
If you connect Gmail, Meridiano requests a single read-only scope, https://www.googleapis.com/auth/gmail.readonly. With it Meridiano cannot send, delete or modify your email. We use it only to find the charge and receipt notifications that create your transactions inside Meridiano.
Meridiano's use and transfer to any other app of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. Specifically:
- We only use Google user data to provide and improve the user-facing features of Meridiano.
- We do not transfer it to third parties, except to the service providers we need to run Meridiano (servers and database), to comply with the law, or at your request.
- We do not use it for advertising, and we do not use it to develop, improve or train generalized artificial intelligence or machine learning models.
- No person reads it, unless you give us permission to troubleshoot a problem, it is needed for security, or the law requires it.
You can revoke Meridiano's access at any time from your Google Account.
Who we share it with
Only with the providers that run Meridiano, which process data on our behalf and cannot use it for anything else: our servers and database (in the United States); Apple, to deliver iPhone notifications; and an AI provider only when you use «Preguntar», which receives the figures needed to answer your question and does not use them to train its models. Gmail messages are never sent to that provider.
Storage and security
Data is encrypted in transit between your device and our servers. Each person can only access their own data. On iPhone, your session is stored in the device keychain.
Retention and deletion
We keep your data while you have an account. If you ask us to delete it, we delete your account and data within 30 days, except what the law requires us to keep.
Your rights
You can ask at any time to access, correct or delete your data, object to a use, or get a copy. Email hola@meridianoapp.com from your account email; we reply within 20 business days.
Children
Meridiano is for people 18 and older.
Changes
If we make an important change, we will tell you in the app or by email before it applies.
